THRESHOLDS
OUR APPROACH
At The Thresholds does not offer generic wellness. We offer something specific: the historian's gift, applied to living women.
Our founder is a trained historian and archivist. Her methodology — the one that shapes everything we do — is rooted in what historians actually do: recover context, name what was left out of the official record, and restore dignity to lives that were documented poorly or not at all.
Applied to the women we serve, this means: we help her understand that her exhaustion, her depression, her loneliness, her financial struggle — these did not happen in a vacuum. They have a history. And once she can name that history, she can begin to move through it.
This is not therapy. This is not a prescription. It is facilitation, education, and community — held with rigor and with deep care.
How We Work
We Read Lives Like Archives
Every woman who comes to At The Thresholds carries a story shaped by forces larger than herself — economic, geographic, generational, systemic. We help her see that context. Not to assign blame. To remove it from her body, where it was never supposed to live.
We Move Slowly, By Design
We do not believe in urgency as a wellness strategy. The women we serve have been rushing — through survival, through caregiving, through institutions that demanded they keep moving. At The Thresholds, we slow down. We hold space that is unhurried, by intention.
We Center the Woman Who Has Been Overlooked
Our work intentionally prioritizes women of color, caregivers, women with financial constraints, and women who have never seen themselves reflected in wellness spaces. This is not incidental. It is the point.
We Facilitate, We Don't Prescribe
Our founder holds space the way a skilled facilitator does — with questions, presence, and the confidence of someone who has been inside this material her whole life. She does not arrive with all the answers. She arrives with the right questions and a room that is safe enough to ask them in.
We Are Honest About What We Are
At The Thresholds is not a therapy practice. We do not diagnose, treat, or replace clinical care. We are a facilitated community space rooted in education, historical thinking, and collective support. We are transparent about this in every offering and every gathering.
We Build in Community
Healing does not happen in isolation. Our gatherings, circles, and membership are designed around the understanding that belonging itself is restorative. The women in our community do not just receive support — they hold it for each other.
The Four Movements
Everything at At The Thresholds is organized around four practices. They are not linear steps. They are movements a woman returns to again and again as her life changes.
Witness
Name what you are carrying — honestly, without minimizing, without shame.
Name
Trace where it came from. Your suffering has a source beyond yourself.
Reclaim
Identify what was withheld. Rest. Care. Recognition. Time. What is still yours.
Return
Build one real practice rooted in who you actually are. Come home to yourself.

We believe that healing, rest, and personal transformation do not happen through pressure, hierarchy, or urgency — but through consent, care, and access to supportive environments. This framework outlines how we practice care, what participants can expect, and the ethical boundaries that guide all Thresholds programming.
Thresholds exists to create spaces where women can reconnect with their bodies, their creativity, and their sense of safety in community. Many participants come from backgrounds where access to consistent, culturally responsive wellness resources has been limited. While our programming is open to diverse participants, we intentionally prioritize accessibility and inclusivity for those who have historically been underserved by traditional wellness systems.
Thresholds primarily serves women who are seeking supportive spaces for wellbeing, regulation, and personal growth. Our work recognizes that healing and growth are ongoing processes, not quick solutions. At its core, Thresholds is grounded in a simple belief, that sustainable wellbeing requires both personal support and supportive environments. We aim to create spaces where individuals can, slow down from constant survival demands, access tools for emotional resilience, connect with community develop long-term self-support practices
